Ways to Save the Earth

By: My/Mochi Ice Cream

Happy Earth Day, earthlings!

As culture cravers and experience chasers, there’s no traveling the world without taking care of it first. On this Earth Day, we at My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream want to share how we care for this beautiful planet.

Besides being your certified master mochi makers, My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream is proud that our paper packaging is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified.

Did you know that the average American uses nearly six trees worth of paper each year? FSC harnesses market demand to ensure forests are responsibly managed. Because FSC is the gold standard in forest certification, it is the only system supported by groups such as WWF, Sierra Club, Greenpeace, Natural Resources Defense Council and National Wildlife Federation.

The nifty FSC logo ensures that all My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream packaging comes from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits. Today, more than 380 million acres of forest are certified under FSC’s system, including more than 150 million acres in the US and Canada.

It’s not just responsibly managing forests; it’s also about ways to save water. According to Natural News, it takes up to 2,000 gallons of water to produce a single gallon of dairy milk. That’s almost 4 months’ worth of the shower we take every morning, Additionally, cows release between 70 and 120 kg of methane per year. Methane is a greenhouse gas like carbon dioxide (CO2), but has a negative effect on the climate that is 23 times higher than the effect of CO2.

With My/Mo’s newest line of Mochi Cashew Cream Frozen Dessert, these non-dairy, plant-based snacks are helping reduce the demand for dairy milk and the overall production of methane. Even better – the creaminess of cashew cream makes it just as marvelously mouthwatering. Try ‘em out in Strawberry, Salted Caramel, Chocolate and Vanilla.

It’s a sweet, sweet world – let’s take good care of it!
